Moneypool is reimagining how people share expenses and save together. Our P2P payments app makes it simple to pool money with friends and family—whether you're planning a group vacation, splitting household expenses, saving for a shared gift, or managing ongoing shared costs. About the Role

We're looking for a Product Designer to own the end-to-end design of the Moneypool app. As our core design hire, you'll shape how millions of users experience collaborative finance. You'll work across the entire product—from onboarding flows to payment mechanics, from group dynamics to individual account management. This is a unique opportunity to define the design vision for a product that sits at the intersection of fintech and social.

What You'll Do

Own the Full Product Experience

  • Design cohesive user experiences across iOS, Android, and web platforms
  • Create and maintain our design system to ensure consistency as we scale
  • Map and optimize user journeys from first download through becoming power users
  • Design for the complexity of group dynamics while keeping interfaces simple and intuitive

Navigate Fintech Complexity

  • Design payment flows that feel effortless while meeting regulatory requirements
  • Create transparent interfaces for transaction histories, pool balances, and member contributions
  • Build trust through design in sensitive moments like payment disputes or failed transactions
  • Ensure our KYC and verification processes feel seamless, not bureaucratic

Design for Social Dynamics

  • Solve unique challenges around group permissions, privacy, and transparency
  • Create features that make money conversations less awkward (payment reminders, contribution tracking, goal visualization)
  • Design for diverse use cases: roommates splitting rent, families saving for reunions, friends planning trips
  • Build social features that encourage engagement without feeling invasive

Drive Design Strategy

  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to define product roadmap
  • Conduct user research to understand how different communities manage shared finances
  • Use data and user feedback to iterate on designs and measure success
  • Champion user needs while balancing business goals and technical constraints

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years of product design experience in consumer apps
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking and shipped products at scale
  • Experience designing payment flows, financial products, or transaction-heavy interfaces
  • Strong understanding of mobile design patterns and platform-specific guidelines
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools
  • Track record of collaborating with engineers to ship high-quality products
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to move fast while maintaining quality

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing social or collaborative features
  • Background in designing for trust and safety
  • Understanding of payment regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience building and scaling design systems
  • Data visualization skills for financial information
  • Experience with international payment systems or multi-currency designs
